One can take a variety of routes up the Northwest ridge of Mount Little, depending on how much snow there is (or how icy it is). If the snow is solid and it is early season you can ascend the Northwest ridge as described in "Rockies Central", following the ridge most of the way up. However, when less snow is present, you can follow our route, or even leave the slope earlier/not touch it at all, this involves more difficult scrambling however.
